Another shoes related Top 10 for the day. This one is a list of the Top 10 best selling shoes. I am not sure exactly how they get to these figures and exactly how accurate it is but it is quite an interesting read for anyone interested in shoes.
And, to top it off, these lovely Playboy Dotty Slippers are on the list as well. Check the Top 10 best selling shoes list HERE.
About.com has a great list for skateboarders. It’s a list of theĀ Top 10 Skateboarding Shoes. Whether or not it is a good list or not, I am not 100% sure as I am not a skateboarder but for anyone wanting a good starting point for finding their son some skating shoes then maybe check it out.
The Top 10 Skate Shoes list at About.com is HERE.
I am not convinced that I like these but they are a special edition of Nike Air Max released to celebrate a famous Asian actor and singer called Jay Chou.
Nicknamed “The Grand” and with a Grand Piano as a reference point the shoes are pictured below. I am not that sure about all the neon pink, in fact I am not even sure why I am blogging about these shoes but everyone has different tastes.

Below is a picture of a seemingly very futuristic shoe design by the winner of the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology of New York) winner for the Footwear News Star Shoe Competition of this year.
As the winner, Melanie Maggio, earns an internship with Nine West shoes where she will be working on the 2009 collection of accessories and shoes.

Just thought I would share this. Very retro and not that pretty but anyway, thought they were quite fun. Someone painted Iron Maiden’s mascot (Eddie, I think, might be mistaken!) on a pair of canvas shoes. Take a look at the picture below.

Nike offers a great opportunity for anyone with old shoes that they are just going to throw away. The Nike ReUSE A SHOE program offers recycling centres in the USA, Europe and Australia for your old shoes. The shoes are turned into sports playing surfaces. To recycle the shoes you need to make sure of a few things (taken from the Nike site) :
If your old shoes meet all these criteria then check out the site HERE for information as to the closest recycling location. There are not a lot but if you are in the vicinity of one it might be a good idea to support this initiatie by Nike. And the shoes DON’T have to be Nike shoes!

Well, you might be a shoe lover but how many of you are going to buy yourself one of these? Yes, it’s a telephone shaped like a pink high-heeled shoe!
I am not whoever are selling these are going to have too many buyers but many young girls for their bedrooms. Anyway, they are not as bad as Elvis’ Blue Suede Shoes posted about previously.
This is just a quick link toa great post about research done by Good Housekeeping magazine in the United Kingdom regarding woman and shoes.
It was a survey of 2,000 Good Housekeeping readers and it reveals some interesting facts about how much woman spend on shoes. Funnily enough it reports that over 25% of woman find the shoes that they have bought uncomfortable. Well, take your time is all I can suggest! Rather shop online with stores that have good returns policies than be rushed in a store and be stuck with a pair of shoes you don’t want!
Anyway, the article with all the interesting figures is HERE.
What happens if you combine a shoe with a microchip. Well, you get a shoe that automatically adjusts cushioning to the current walking or running pattern of the wearer.
These “intelligent shoes” have a microchip and a small battery that are connected to a motorized cable system that will automatically adjust the shoes cushioning.
Amazing stuff to be honest and is surely an indicator of more of the things we are likely to see in the future of shoe technology.
